Bio
My name is Melissa Kwan, I am in my second year at the University of Ottawa working towards my Bachelor of Education in Primary/Junior. Follow along while I share my journey as a Teacher Candidate. I was in a grade 1, 2, 3 split classroom at Alta Vista Public School for my first-year practicum. I have been co-planning and planning independently in Science, Language, Math, Health and Physical Education, and Art. This year, I am in a grade 3/4 split class teaching Math, Language, Social Studies, Art and Health and Physical Education.
Prior to my studies here, I received my Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition from the University of Guelph. I was an early childhood educator at YMCA for ages 3-6 where I provided a supportive environment to foster emotional and physical development. I am a cooking instructor for the PC Cooking School where I facilitate cooking classes and birthday parties for children ages 2- 16 years old.
